The Highland Cattle Society will be hosting the 3rd International Gathering of Highland Breeders on Wednesday 29th September 2010 – Saturday 2nd October 2010.
There will be seminars on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning with some of the leading lights of the industry discussing the merits of Highland Cattle in the 21st Century with question and answer sessions. Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s grandest castles due to its imposing position and impressive architecture will be the venue for an unforgettable Gala Dinner on Wednesday 29th September. Thursday afternoon will visit Killochries Fold and Woodneuk Fold culminating in a civic reception at Glasgow City Chambers in the heart of the city of Glasgow. Friday will be a full day visiting folds in the east of Scotland with lunch at Glamis Castle. The culmination of the official gathering will be at the International Highland Cattle Show held at Pollok Park, Glasgow on Saturday 2nd October showcasing the best of the Highland breed in the country, with a ceilidh in the evening. The following week will be a free week with various folds offering an open house finishing with the main show and sale in Oban on Sunday 10th October and Monday 11th October.
